Local 773 Training Center

Phinney Design Group designed a new training facility for the Local 773 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union at the Tech Meadows Campus in Glens Falls, New York. The new building serves as a high tech training center, which houses administrative offices, meeting space, classrooms, a welding instruction shop with a loading dock, and a special ‘clean room’ training facilities. This new building is a single story, 17,500 square foot structure.

The new training center incorporates solar thermal water heating, and implements passive solar strategies, as well as energy efficient mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Similar to Wick’s Law Construction for public projects, Phinney Design Group worked closely with three prime contractors and the Clerk of the works to complete the projects under budget with less than 1% total change orders.
