Longtime residents of this home in Bolton Landing, NY have nurtured their existing colonial on Lake George with dignity over the years. Their recent porch reconstruction reflects their admiration for the water’s edge and appreciation for detail. In keeping with the existing style and scale of the house, the existing porch was transformed into a multi-use, indoor/outdoor space with folding glass panels and sliding curved doors taking into consideration the concerns of a multi-generational family. The existing sun’s rays penetrating the main living spaces of the house remain unblocked through skylight and roof designs acquired from solar studies as a heat supplement to the radiant stone floor.
