informzINT7Saratoga Springs, NY- Phinney Design Group, a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Interior Design Firm in Saratoga Springs, was presented with the AIAENY Interiors Merit Award, presented by meteorologist Jason Gough on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at The Arts Center in Troy. Phinney Design Group was recognized for their interior design work on Informz, Inc. on Railroad Place in Saratoga Springs. “Playful, Fun, Funky and Engaging” are just a few of the words the American Institute of Architects Eastern New York (AIAENY) Jury used to describe this space. The Jury also noted that the space promotes team building and thought that there was “nice attention to branding integration” done by Phinney Design Group.

Phinney Design Group was approached by Joe Tyler of Informz, Incorporated, a Digital Marketing Solutions company, to design the interiors of their new corporate headquarters. The design included space for eight different departments, integrating private and open offices, meeting areas, collaboration and support spaces, and access to a green roof for outdoor work and recreation. Many spaces were integrated throughout the departments where staff can break-out into teams, brainstorm or lounge between projects. The green roof and break room/lounge were also designed so that team members could sit with a laptop and work away from their desks with Wi-Fi or Ethernet access. The design for the project utilized Informz’s logo colors: Charcoal, Parakeet Green, and Indigo throughout the materials used including a mix of carpet tiles, accent paint colors and furnishings to unify the different departments and common spaces. Weathered grey ash wood plank accents were used at the entry reception canopy and main gathering space for employee break and meetings. Stainless steel and dark grey industrial style lighting was mixed with conventional 2×2 and 2×4 acoustical suspended ceiling fluorescent lighting. Warm cork flooring was used at the employee lounge, which also multitasks as a meeting room.
