Michael brings exceptionally in-depth knowledge to his leadership roles, helping to guide multi-disciplinary teams through programming and strategic planning, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases. He is also a licensed architect, AIA member and LEED Accredited Professional, with over 19 years of experience in the architectural design field.

Mr. Goard received his Bachelor of Architecture from Norwich University located in Northfield, Vermont. Prior to joining Phinney Design Group, Mr. Goard was a Principal and Project Executive with EYP Architecture & Engineering. He was responsible for the renovation and restoration of several historic structures and landmarks, including the Palace Theatre, Albany, NY, The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Presidential Library, Hyde Park, NY and Castle Williams on Governors Island in NYC.

James is a licensed Architect and AIA Member with over 14 years of experience in architectural design, development, and construction services. James excels in bringing a sensible, client-focused approach to design problems. His talents for graceful detailing and drive to create projects of lasting worth have resulted in numerous national design awards and publications.

In his new role, he will facilitate the development of design content, and ensure the firm continues to exceed customer expectations.

James has been involved on a variety of projects on behalf of Phinney Design Group, including Spring Lawn, a boutique resident membership resort in Lennox, Massachusetts and “The Center” at Silver Bay YMCA of the Adirondacks.   He has led the design and construction of numerous and notable private residences throughout the Northeast.

 
robert-g-marchPhinney Design Group has hired Robert March as the Director of Construction Management Services. Robert has over 30 years of experience in architectural design, construction observation, and construction management services. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional.

Mr. March was previously with Gilbane Building Company as a Senior Project Manager providing construction management services for a confidential client’s new research and development facility located in Southern Tier, NY. Prior to Gilbane, Mr. March was a Senior Project Manager with Faithful + Gould providing owner’s representative services for GLOBALFOUNDRIES located in Malta, NY. The GLOBALFOUNDRIES facility will stand as the most technologically advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in the world.
