This home was shaped by a careful orchestration of sustainable values; it combines the client's needs with sitting for passive solar heating and cooling, while leaving the characteristically hilly site undisturbed. The design takes into consideration the winds in the area, significant land features and the importance of the natural environment by using harvested wood with all natural finishes. As one of the early examples of innovative residential design, the house identified the Phinney Design Group as a leading firm in ecological architecture. “Care and respect — for those who built their home and for the land it sits on — are the secret ingredients these homeowners brought to their magical home” Natural Home & Garden Magazine, May/June 2005. |
